About Marsha's Candy
Marsha, my wife, is a nurse with a Master's Degree in Public Health (Health Education) from Loma Linda University, CA. She became a nurse to educate people about better health. She presently is a credentialed school nurse.
Since it is hard to find really healthy food (low in salt, sugars and trans-fats with no cholesterol, etc.) at restaurants, she was always looking for new healthy recipes to make at home. This led her to attempt healthy desserts. She eventually developed a delicious healthy treat to serve friends and relatives. We began taking it to luncheons and family gatherings for holidays, church potlucks, and special occasions. Soon, people began asking for the recipe and suggested we market it.
What are the benefits of the ingredients? Whole ground flaxseeds with their good Omega-3 fats, help to lower cholesterol just as almonds do according to the Loma Linda University "Nut Studies". The other healthy ingredients are sunflower seeds, soy milk, Agave (a plant sweetener with a low glycemic index), dry roasted hazelnuts (sweetest of all the nuts), some coconut, and the carob coating.
We thank God that He gave Marsha the inspiration to create this treat, and that we can now share it with you and make your life a bit more healthy and enjoyable!
Blessings,
